Other Futures

(TASK—poster brochure, featuring films for a hypothetical ArtCenter film club screening. Offset litho, 2 color job) After watching many futuristic movies, we were to create a poster-brochure for a film screening, using imagery from movies and typography that fit the mood. I pulled images from various movies that reflected themes of parallels and homogeneity.
Learning Outcomes:
flexible design: designing layout that works as a poster and brochure (large scale + small scale). typography: exploring typographic treatment details, diverse but controlled. images: curating images from movie stills, experimenting with treatments, integrating imagery with typography. iterations: Simon had us explore very many iterations. This pushed me to keep an open perspective and be susceptible to change.

Movie Stills — I chose striking, iconic movie stills
Image treatment exploration. We had to use a 2 color job and pull directly from movies ourselves (lower res,) so the treatment was important.
