The 20 Year SCRAMble

*Currently a work in Progress. Our assignment was to pick an 'ism to design a narrative book around. I chose militarism specifically focusing on the US occupation in Afghanistan. With the news of a sudden departure of US forces and refugee evacuations after nearly 20 year of occupation, I thought this would make a relevant topic for my narrative project. It is still in the works, but I wanted to share my process and iterations for stylized initial spreads, section dividers, and covers.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned the fundamentals of book design. Every week, updates were made that taught me how to carefully improve the narrative of my book design. With valuable feedback, I learned how to properly use color, textures, and images to create visually interesting spreads.
