Aad Sach Jugaad Sach

"Aad Sach Jugaad Sach" is a project I undertook to explore the Sikh Identity. I was born into a Sikh Family, but I have never adhered to the identity that comes with being a Sikh. Through this project, I wished to understand my own religion, the importance of the articles, focusing especially on the hair.

The Kesh (hair), is the most vulnerable part of a Sikh's Identity. While the hair holds many meanings, one particular aspect of it I personally find beautiful is, it is the Sikh way of accepting the Hukam (will of the universe). Accepting this will is the most important thing for a Sikh.

Through the years, Saints and sadhus have chosen not to cut their hair. They say all the energy lies in the strands of hair. Unfortunately, in the recent times, this very identity has become the very reason for hate crimes against Sikhs in various countries. In certain places, even a thing to be mocked. Totally ignoring the spirituality behind this beautiful philosophy.
