Poppy

Poppy is inspired by the energetic and playful nature of a playground. As the name suggests, it brings character and expression into a generation of font design that has been geared towards minimalism. The proportions are inspired by old-style, humanistic typefaces like Windsor, but with a more modern twist. It resembles movement and the idea that something is about to happen.
Learning Outcomes:
Creating an expressive yet functional typeface like Poppy taught me the importance of attention to detail and cohesiveness. This experience allowed me to gain a greater appreciation for typefaces and how small adjustments can create the overall character and expression of a typeface. It allowed me to be more thoughtful of the use of typefaces and what inspired them.
