BS in Interaction Design — Interaction DesignExplorations of Day to Day App‘s Interface
This project reimagined everyday mobile interfaces by challenging conventional design patterns for common applications like weather, calculators, and digital wallets. Through conceptual exploration, I questioned familiar UI frameworks and proposed alternative interaction models that prioritize visual storytelling and experiential design over standard usability conventions.
Each week-long cycle began with research into existing app patterns and identifying design opportunities or thematic directions. I then sketched alternative interface concepts that broke from established norms, exploring unconventional layouts, interactions, and visual treatments. The second week was dedicated to prototyping these explorations in Figma, refining micro-interactions and testing how users might navigate these reimagined experiences.
This project sharpened my critical eye toward interface design conventions, teaching me to question why certain patterns dominate rather than accepting them as inevitable. I developed skills in designing meaningful micro-interactions and learned to balance innovation with usability—understanding when to challenge familiar structures and when familiarity serves the user best.
