Rapid Prototyping - Solid Work Prototype

This SolidWorks-based project explored 3D modeling through a progression from technical fundamentals to creative expression. Beginning with everyday objects and studies of light and form, the work culminated in a Gothic-inspired design that merged skeletal motifs with aesthetic beauty.

Process:

The initial phase of this project focused on foundational 3D modeling skills, exploring how light, shadow, and form interact through the creation of everyday objects. As I gained technical proficiency in SolidWorks, the final prototype shifted toward more personal expression—I developed a Gothic-inspired piece centered on themes of death, skeletal structures, and the intersection of darkness and beauty, allowing me to merge technical modeling with my own aesthetic vision.

Learning Outcomes:

Through this project, I developed foundational competency in 3D modeling software and technical construction principles. I learned to consider how geometry, surface treatments, and lighting affect form, while also discovering how to balance technical precision with conceptual and aesthetic ambitions in digital fabrication.
