For my grad studio 4 project, I've decided to design my own luxury hospitality brand. This boutique retreat experience is located in the Basque country, and the retreat itself is focused on providing guests with all-inclusive lodging, farm-to-table cuisine and Basque-centered workshops (within the realms of gardening, culinary classes, and basque history, language + culture).

Learning Outcomes:

So far, I've learned a lot about process – Prof. Trigo has really taught me a lot in this realm, which I really appreciate and am excited to employ in other classes. I've also learned a lot about Business Model Generation and Value Proposition, each of which I've never learned anything about before.

Basque mood board - I am inspired by the bright colors, architectural forms, unique typography and geometric patterns. These have all informed by visual identity thus far.

These are all photos I took when I visited the Basque country 4 years ago - I miss it!

Meaning behind my chosen brand name. To be able to travel is not only a privilege, but a gift to ourselves and others.

Wordmark exploration - a Basque-inspired typeface. Playing with tracking to connote the feeling of luxury.

The stacking and rearranging of letterforms may not be the true lockup, but could be a behavior of the word mark in motion and at various touch points.

color palette exploration

icon exploration: the raspberry (an ingredient I frequently foraged and made jam out of when I was living in the Basque country), the farmhouse, Basque windows, and spider webs are all symbols I associated with the area. Ignore the slight imperfection on the bottom right spider web!
