Great Authors Booklet

For the Great Authors Project, we were tasked to source our own article that discusses an esteemed author. I chose Jhumpa Lahiri, a Bengali-American author whose short stories I read in high school. Lahiri's works often address intimate, familial, and international topics. She frequently discusses the difficulties, complexities, and beauty that are innate to the immigrant experience.
Learning Outcomes:
In the process of art directing the typography, images and artistic decisions in this booklet, I chose to focus on themes of intimacy, romance, and European charm. In the article that I sourced for this booklet, Lahiri is interviewed about her love of Italian culture. So, I decided to focus on sophisticated typography, imagery that features intimate subject matter (that showcases humanity), and a minimal layout with ample white space, as Lahiri's writing style is very concise and minimal itself.
