Port St. Willow

This assignment was designed to further my skills in typography within the context of a branding campaign for my assigned artist, Port St. Willow. The goal was to produce a new logo (or more specifically, wordmark) for this indie musician, and to apply this new visual identity within the form of LP, CD, and merch designs for the album “Syncope.”
Learning Outcomes:
My design solution for Port St. Willow (and the accompanying album, Syncope) was inspired by the artist’s affinity for the natural world. In the process of conducting research pertaining to the artist’s background, I had found that Port St. Willow was deeply fascinated by the colors, sounds and textures of the Pacific Northwest. So, in this project, I really learned how to hone a sense of place and mood of the artist's background and music genre through branding.
