Wild LA Booklet

This assignment is designed to further the students skills in typographic usage, page layout, sequential story telling, and the use of complex grid systems. Conceptual thinking and problem solving is emphasized along with formal design issues including scale relationships, the importance and usage of photography, illustration, and diagrammatic systems. My booklet was based on "Wild L.A.", an episode of Lost L.A. that examines the relationship between L.A. and the natural environment.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned: 1. How to compile and distill research in a way that is conducive to telling my specific episode's story. 2. How to present information in a way that is visually appealing, digestible, and fun to read. 3. The principles of engawa (introductory spreads of our booklet). 4. How to prepare and send booklet / print documents to a publisher.

Engawa: For the engawa, or introductory spreads of my book, I decided to write personal vignettes of my relationship with nature as a resident of Los Angeles.
