Jen wanted the class to create a book cover for either a passion or hobby of ours. She suggested to utilize real-world imaging with our cameras and materials we use within our hobby. She also assigned to implement a symbol that represents the hobby. The hobby I chose was upcycling clothing. To depict that, I wanted to have either a collage or bold symbol of clothing. I decided to combine them and have the staple symbol of clothing be the focal point with my own upcycled clothing within it.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned that if I want to implement a repetition, its either to the extreme, or to not do it at all. So if it isn't bold enough, it seems like a timid design choice. I also learned how using raw materials to implement a design that looks better in real life rather rendered on a computer is significant to wanting my true vision of an idea come to life and how I do not have to always rely on a software to make my designs for me.
