Spotlight

The main plot of Spotlight revolves around uncovering the truth behind the Catholic Church's cover-up of widespread pedophilia within the priesthood. The church goes to great lengths to hide this unethical secret. In the movie, cloches symbolize the Catholic Church, and what is revealed beneath them represents the crimes and ugliness of the church. As a cloche opens, a child's toy and cockroaches appear, symbolizing the church's hidden ugliness and childhood trauma caused by abuse.
Learning Outcomes:
Throughout this project, I've developed the ability to use camera angles effectively to evoke emotions, particularly when dealing with sensitive topics. This process taught me how to strategically frame scenes to enhance the narrative, conveying the underlying feelings and complexities of the subject matter.
