Performance Space

Performance Space is an arts organization in New York known for radical performances and an anti-institutional mission. Inspired by the Fluxus movement and Yoko Ono’s work “Grapefruit” where she invites people to make art in their everyday practice, the identity expands from the logo “P” that transforms infinitely, where artists are commissioned to make the “P” based on the set of instructions provided. The project involved analog methods and coding to create generative brushes.

Drawing Space is a generative coding tool designed to provide a platform where users can create their own "P"s and engage in digital art-making. The process video below showcases how found materials from the street are transformed into digital brushes
