This poster reimagines David Bowie’s China Girl, a work that intentionally highlighted racism and cultural fetishization. While the original music video presents a male-dominated perspective, my illustration reverses the dynamic by positioning the “China Girl” as the dominant figure. Through this visual shift, the piece reframes the narrative to emphasize agency, strength, and the reclaiming of Asian female identity.
