Bat Cube

The Bat Cube is a modular, eco-friendly urban habitat system designed to support bat populations threatened by habitat loss, urban noise, and light pollution. It offers an accessible and easy-to-assemble solution for urban residents and environmental enthusiasts to engage in biodiversity conservation, particularly in gardens, rooftops, and other urban spaces, while raising awareness and fostering compassion for wildlife.
Learning Outcomes:
Through this project, I deepened my understanding of how design can serve not only people, but other species sharing our cities. I learned to balance empathy, biology, and architecture—to design with rather than for. Working with unfamiliar user needs challenged me to think beyond human-centered design, and sparked new perspectives on co-living, visibility, and modularity.
