Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery Rebranding

This is rebrand of a public gallery in Los Angeles. I wanted to make the identity more iconic, modern, and inventive. The driving visual metaphor I chose was "Melting Pot", which would help make the brand feel more creative and community-oriented. I chose real artists who have had their work shown at LAMAG in the past, using examples of their art for the posters, tickets, and other deliverables. Otherwise, the brand is purposefully minimal to avoid bringing too much attention away from the art.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned how to strategize a rebrand and how to think in metaphors to accomplish it. I also learned more about how to justify design choices I make. Finally, I learned how to explain my brand in a style guide so that other designers can replicate my style.
