I designed the Atame film poster for display in a contemporary museum. After watching the film, red rope stood out as a visual symbol that shows the toxic relationship of characters. For the color palette, the strong contrast of red and black works well to describe their relationship. For the image, I used the paper-cutting technique to show suspended red ropes shapes to show the title ATAME in a diagonal direction. Also, the texture in the background is from markers to give a toxic feeling.
Learning Outcomes:
In this project, there was a rule not to use photos directly from the film, which means we had to create our image. Through the limitation, it helped me a lot to be creative with image-making. I studied textures with different mediums and be experimental with physical materials.
