Calendar Poster Series

The calendar poster series is a project to give a visually engaging perspective that utilizes the mechanics of a calendar. We had to design posters under the three concepts: functional (clear/easy to understand), transitional (experimental/calendar function remains), and experimental(abstract/decompose).
Learning Outcomes:
I enjoyed the process of creating transitional and experimental posters since I was staying in the safe zone in basic typography layout that is clean and legible. In the making process, it took me a while to break the wall of the strictness, and I learned to be more experimental and challenging in using types to visually convey the narrative.

Functional #1 : inspired by python language, which I took it in computer science class.

Functional #2: inspired by Akkurat typeface. Tried to enhance the clear and simple design of the typography through the layout.

Transitional #1: inspired by light art (photography took in slow shutter speed)
Image
Transitional #2: inspired by feeling of unrelated. I made an offset to the overall layout and depart from each other to enhance the loneliness.

Experimental #1: 2014 is a year when I turned into 10th grade and started to feel anxiety that time flies so fast that I didn't recognize it before. Distorted and decomposed type on the foreground and motion blur / motion picture on the background presents the insecurity.
