My Secret World Book Cover

In my first sketches, I went to a more illustrative direction trying to isolate the part of myself I have the most confidence in photography. Seeing as a huge chunk of my free time is shooting film although at first, I didn't think of it as a secret because of how normal it is to me.

After receiving feedback on my first sketches I had a better understanding of how to display something symbolically. I really wanted to do something like the anamorph books where they transition from person to animal and vice versa but ended up going with an image where I have completely transitioned.

I took multiple side profiles and portraits of film canisters to get a good composition where you can see the film canister blending in with my skin using the stamp took to make it look natural. I created multiple digital renditions because I was having trouble deciding what looked best. Having everything next together make it easier to pick from the group.

My final rendition giving space to the image on the book to make it more asymmetrical.
