Creative Campaign for Book Design

As part of the book’s promotion, I designed a trailer to promote the book. I made a few trailers based on how I think people would appreciate seeing, then I turned inward and reflected on my identities and how being Chinese American is very hard and confusing at times, but films like Past Lives (by Celine Song) have directed me to hope and to face everyday life with self-acceptance. In the trailer, I went and found a lot of footage taken by my mom, when I was a little girl, also through the lens of an immigrant family.

The more personal the story is, the more it resonates with others. So I chose to be very specific about why I chose my story to cover for this creative campaign, it’s an original experience that somehow also resonates with many others.
