Drifter Movie Poster
ArtCenter had this amazing panel led by the Drifter team that is promoting the film called Drifter, a film about car communities in California, but it also serves as a love letter to the fans world wide. It's a passion project led by Sung Kang, he's known for his works in Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift, making him one of the most popular characters in the fast franchise.
I sourced different imagery from the Drifter movie, then selected a piece of the car (star of the show), color graded it as well as putting high contrast on it to make it look graphic and fun. I also added in textures of the tires as well as re-designing the title of the movie to be more modern and timeless. The designs of the poster can be easily transformed into collectable posters and wearable merch (as shown below).
Process:
I made this poster as a gift to the Drifter movie team, for the main producers as well as the director and star of the film, Sung Kang. His team loved it so much when I was gifting it to them in person during the panel. I had fun designing for something that was purely based on my passion, as a side project, yet, had such an amazing outcome and turnout.
