Vinyl Cover Design - CD1

In my Communication Design 1 class, we were asked to reimagine a vinyl cover from scratch, so I chose to redesign an album by one of my favorite musicians—especially since he doesn’t have a vinyl version yet, which gave me a lot of creative freedom. I started with the title and track list, then built everything around a chaotic acrylic painting I made, blending in my own storm photography and physical textures like scratches.

Coming from an illustration background, I approached it very hands-on, mixing physical and digital processes in Photoshop before assembling the final vinyl cover. It ended up being a really experimental, collaborative process across mediums— a dream project that I produced.

The front of the album is hand painted and edited after to fit the size of the album vinyl sleeve (12"x12")

the backside of the vinyl is made up of a photo that I took during a thunderstorm back home, and inversed it with a traditional van gogh painting, and customized typography.
