Blackmagik Blazing Album Covers

This is a series of typographic exercises to further develop type fundamentals through different forms of expression, and second, application of the learned fundamentals through poster series. Each exercise utilizes 9 unique and conceptual typographic layouts, with a favorite selected on a chosen album. For this typography foundation sequence, I chose the album Blackmagik Blazing, EDM music curated album, by Camellia. The modern piece is focused on darkness and black magic.
Learning Outcomes:
Throughout my classes in Art Center, this class was definitely the hardest from the amount of work and keeping an original concept every week. I learned a lot of experimentation, tools, and manipulations in Photoshop to help me keep up with creating 9 posters every week. This class helped me learn about hierarchy, contrast, scale, color, texture, experimental techniques, established grid. Having restrictions and rules to some posters was a good way to focus directly on the heiarchy only.
