DPR IAN Poster Series

The objective project was to create a visually engaging perspective that conveys an emotional response through typography. DPR Ian’s album “Moodswings In This Order” – or “MITO” – features distressed texture, and this warped perspective on love, fear, and the emotions of life. I created 3 types: Typographic Poetry: a song and using its lyrics Concert Tour Poster: a touring poster with venues Tribute Poster: poster in dedication to DPR IAN
Learning Outcomes:
The applied fundamentals of the exercises learned were hierarchy, contrast, scale, color, texture, experimental techniques, established grid. Narrative and continuity within the series are what kept the ideas aligned with his album. Typography must be the hero of the poster to convey a stronger emotion than imagery. Imagery could be used, but only as texture or as a secondary element.
