Durational Recollections Camera

This camera considers a different way of approaching memory capture from what we’re familiar with today, recalling historical methods of storytelling and slow media. It physicalizes the elongation of memory that is made by those who want to tend towards moments in their lives. The cross stitched output is blurry to the eye but remains meaningful to the one who slowly generates an image of the past, foregrounding the imperfect recollection of the memory rather than the clarity of the visual.
Learning Outcomes:
This is not a refusal towards the documentarian camera but a suggestion towards departicularized memory. If an image of a fond memory is presented at the highest quality, the emotional weight of feelings from this moment is not any clearer than that of an old blurry image. The durational recollections camera moves away from the forensic pursuit of image and gives into the faults of memory in order to foreground the stories that live within ourselves.
