This project visualizes the regression from biodiversity to its cellular foundations through Art + Science–driven design research.
Using layered patterns, geometric systems, and motion-based studies, the work explores how complexity emerges from simple structures, and how easily those structures can shift.
Biosphere began with research into ecosystems, biodiversity, and cellular structures, asking how complex living systems could be translated into visual form. I developed the project through layered pattern studies, geometric compositions, and motion experiments, using graphic design to move between macro and micro scales. Across publication, exhibition identity, animation, and spatial media, I built a visual system that expresses how simple structures connect, evolve, and influence one another.
Through this project, I learned how to translate scientific concepts into visual language that feels both accessible and emotionally engaging. I strengthened my ability to build a cohesive system across multiple media while using pattern, motion, and spatial thinking to communicate interdependence and change. Biosphere also deepened my understanding of how graphic design can make invisible relationships visible, showing that individual actions can ripple across a much larger system.
