Ernest Hemingway Great Writers Series

Our first project for type 3 was to do an 8 page book layout about an author of our choosing. The author I chose was Ernest Hemingway. I wanted to keep it contemporary while paying homage to Hemingway's adventurist and outdoors lifestyle. I chose to use large type on the front and back cover to showcase the unique typeface. The timeline running through the book of Hemingway's listed works is used for a graphic element.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned how to develop a consistency throughout my spreads and also how to bring a contemporary feel to an old subject matter. I also learned how to utilize scale to create emphasis on certain subject matters.
