SHAN

SHAN is a beverage packaging project that introduces Yunnan’s tea vinegar to the U.S. organic wellness market through a culturally grounded, design-forward system. Crafted from ripe Pu’er tea leaves sourced in Yunnan’s ancient highland forests, the vinegar is traditionally fermented for over 180 days in earthenware jars using mountain spring water and native microbial cultures. The result is a tangy-sweet, earthy, and aromatic liquid rich in amino acids, antioxidants, and minerals. supporting gut health, digestion, and metabolic balance while remaining low-calorie and fat-free.

The packaging translates the wild-crafted essence of Bulang ethnic heritage into a contemporary visual language, bridging ancestral fermentation practices with modern retail contexts such as Whole Foods Market and Erewhon Market. SHAN positions tea vinegar as both a functional beverage and a cultural artifact, inviting consumers into a ritual of daily nourishment rooted in ecology, time, and tradition.
