Digging A Dream

Digging A  Dream is an interactive installation that seeks to uncover the forgotten history of Chinese laborers and reflect on the roles and contributions of minority groups in American history. In the mid-19th century, over 5,000 Chinese workers endured harsh conditions to help build the transcontinental railroad, connecting the East and West coasts of the United States. Despite their critical contributions, their efforts were largely overlooked and erased from mainstream narratives.
