Art Can Save China: Chinese Identity in Contemporary Art

Adhering to the theme of “Decolonizing the Arts," I chose to highlight the voices of Chinese contemporary artists who do not have the space for their creative voices to be heard in the 21st century by the Western audience in this project. My book and posters celebrate their work and explore their impact in the greater art world. The following spreads are selections from the 64-page book, accompanied by complementary posters.
Learning Outcomes:
This project gave me the opportunity to strengthen my type fundamentals and design voice. I learned how to tell a narrative in the medium of a book, how to back up my design decisions, and explain why I made my design choices.
