Rupa Rasa

Rupa Rasa is a conceptual fine dining restaurant based in Los Angeles, where Javanese and Californian culinary traditions converge. Drawing from the Indonesian words rupa (form) and rasa (feeling, taste), the project explores how identity is shaped through sensory experience.

Through a fusion menu that balances precision with intuition, Rupa Rasa frames cuisine as a dialogue between cultures: one that considers not only how food looks and tastes, but how it carries memory, context, and emotional resonance.

This project was an exploration into luxury as something felt, not removed. Luxury can be rooted in warmth and rawness rather than strict refinement.
