FA 23: Devotchka Tour Poster/Campaign Design

This poster, for Devotchka's upcoming show, features a piece of custom typography based on the band's logo. The concert information is paired with an illustration of a bird, which is being restrained by a cat's-cradle cage, held together by two mysterious hands. The poster and imagery is meant to capture the themes of the band's music and sound.
Learning Outcomes:
I have been lucky enough to take illustration courses and I have expanded my skillset and definition of what design is. Through this project, I was able to experiment with my digital painting skills but I was also challenged to think of typography and design in a different way. Furthermore, I applied my design thinking to the overall concept of the poster, and I abstracted my associations that I had with the band to come up with this unique imagery.
