Paris Blues Album Covers

This assignment involved the creation of an album cover for a fictitious musician, that was meant to act as prop that could have been used in a film. I designed and illustrated two album covers, based on the musicians in the 1961 film "Paris Blues." Ram Bowen and Eddie Cook are American jazz musicians in Paris, and I wanted to capture the time period, music style, and love stories in each album cover.
Learning Outcomes:
In order to make an accurate movie prop, the research and development stages were crucial. In order to design a convincing album cover that could have been used in the film "Paris Blues," I extensively researched artists of the era, album covers of 1960s jazz musicians, and also studied other movies that use graphic design elements/props to make for a believable environment.
