MFA in Graphic Design - 2 Yr Path — Graduate Graphic DesignSU 23: Strange Brew Illustrated Song Poster (In Progress)
*This is a work in progress as of week 8 * Recently, I was tasked with the creation of poster inspired by a favorite song. I chose to illustrate Cream's "Strange Brew," a song about a twisted, almost mythical love. To capture the essence of the lyrics, and the time period, I drew a witchy woman with the singer's heart, set on a backdrop of psychedelic inspired text.
Learning Outcomes:
Throughout this project, I have explored the ways in which type and image can interact. In a more abstract sense, I have also learned how one might interpret words (lyrics) into visuals and making decisions on how to represent different ideas, feelings, and scenes in a piece will be beneficial when I am working on both design and on illustration.
