conference identity, poster + applications

I made a poster for the fictional Association Typographique Internationale using typography. This poster can be reversed, so it ends up being two posters. At the same time, I also applied the impressive type I created to T-shirts, tote bags, and medals. My design concept is to create ambiguous Type to cover the entire poster, and then use negative space to arrange other lower-hierarchy texts.
Learning Outcomes:
This is my first attempt at ambiguous font design. I used lines for outlines and shadows, and after a lot of trials, I settled on this version. The most important thing I've learned is how to find a balance between distinguishable and indiscernible fonts, using fonts as decorative elements while maintaining legibility. At the same time, the use of negative space is also very challenging in this project, using weight and size to create a hierarchy.
