Sci-Fi cinema series poster + brochure

For this project, I made Sci-Fi movie screening posters from 1982-2020 for Artcenter Film Club. I used the concept of collage to stack together important elements from sci-fi movies, using transparency and color blocks to create typographic space. The poster also needs to be able to be cropped into a brochure, so I also pay attention to this with the use of collage in the typography to make sure that the brochure looks nice with negative space without being cluttered.
Learning Outcomes:
I rarely try collage, this project was a challenge for me. I hope to master the ability of collage. At the same time, this project requires that the poster can be cut into a brochure, which is the first time I have faced it. I need to start doing brochures and posters at the same time so that neither one will look weird when it finally renders. I've tried different arrangements and sizes, and it's been a great workout for my abilities. I learned how to balance fonts on a huge poster and brochure
