BFA in Graphic Design — Graphic DesignChic: The Couturiers
Chic: The Couturiers is a publication that celebrates eight designers who define the language of haute couture. The book combines the elegance, delicacy, and manifestation of couture — where craftsmanship becomes expression and design transforms into art. Through refined typography, balanced composition, and subtle material contrast, the visual system reflects the tactile beauty of couture itself — graceful, precise, and timeless.
I began by researching the history and visual language of couture—its precision, craftsmanship, and theatrical elegance. From this foundation, I explored typography, silhouettes, and image treatments that echo the sculptural qualities of couture garments. I developed a system that balances modern minimalism with elevated details, testing compositions through poster studies, publication layouts, and motion experiments. Iterative refinement helped shape a visual identity that feels both polished and expressive, capturing couture’s blend of artistry and discipline.
I deepened my understanding of how fashion history and design language can translate into a contemporary visual identity. This project strengthened my ability to build cohesive typographic systems, use editorial layout to create narrative flow, and design with intention around luxury aesthetics.
