Journey
This storyboard follows a family of cactus wrens: a mother and four baby chicks. The youngest and smallest is constantly at a disadvantage, struggling to keep up with its siblings in getting food, flying, and overall surviving. However, it stands out from its siblings with its observational skills, and soon finds its place in its family by alerting and saving its family from an incoming predator, discovering its own part to play and what it can contribute to the survival of the family.
Learning Outcomes:
In this project, I learned how to use different color palettes to differentiate moods, with the two different palettes indicating the two main parts of the story. I was also able to test using contrast in composition to intensify the storytelling, with similar perspectives in all but one frame to show change.
