Obscura | Thesis Project

This thesis explores how designers can reconnect with their creative process to rediscover purpose in an era of environmental crises and unsustainable consumerism. Focusing on Generation Z, it examines how emotions like anxiety, loss and anger shape creativity—and how spontaneity, experimentation and personal exploration can help reclaim joy and sustain creative practice.
Learning Outcomes:
Drawing from critiques of design under capitalism and Indigenous philosophies of collective
well-being, this research offers a study for using emotion as a creative catalyst, fostering a more intentional and fulfilling approach to design.
