Shocked by a video of a driver and passenger asleep in a moving Tesla, I designed an AI system for safer Level 3 handovers. Based on secondary research, it applies LLM-driven voice guidance, visual cues, HVAC control, and audio alerts across six key scenarios. Internal validation showed a 72% drop in driver anxiety, 2.7-second faster reaction time, 87% safety improvement, and a 4.8/5 satisfaction score.
Learning Outcomes:
It is my hope that this AI will be applied, tested, and continually refined in real Level 3 autonomous vehicles, benefiting drivers and promoting a safer driving experience.
