Lolita: A Study in Desire and Censorship

The poster is designed for the banned book “Lolita” by Vladimir Nabokov, as part of a final project at the Archetype Press. The aim was to encapsulate the controversial themes of the novel, particularly the sinful desire portrayed in the story, while utilizing the medium of letterpress to create a poster that resonates with the book’s complex tones. The design is to effectively communicate the essence of the novel while also serving as a commentary on the reasons behind its banning.
Learning Outcomes:
The final poster successfully achieved its goals by creating a visually arresting and thematically rich design that captures the essence of “Lolita.”
