Every Stitch Holds a Story
Every Stitch Holds a Story is a coding-based project created using Processing, where I designed a custom generative type system inspired by the stretching and movement of traditional Korean bojagi textiles. Bojagi are patchwork cloths traditionally used for wrapping objects, where each stitch and fabric piece carries traces of the maker's process and history.
In this project, I translated the physical behavior of stitched fabric into typographic form. Using generative rules, the letters stretch, shift, and adapt, simulating how textiles naturally move and pull as they are sewn together.
