LOVE AMOC

A melting glacial goddess learns that she too is loved and not alone. Due to global warming, glaciers and ice sheets in Greenland and Iceland are melting, causing the most vital ocean current system (the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation) to slow to a stop. My goal is to leave the audience with two things: hope and the word "AMOC."

Process:

This project's creative direction lies in translating oceanography to clear shapes and colors, as well as a color script design process that Nathan Fowkes had regularly used at DreamWorks Animation. The "Emotional Chart" to mark ascensions and descensions of emotions. Charting every story beat with a numerical intensity mark, this led the direction of the color script designed by Debbie Moon and consequently the work of the orchestral score by Kieran Casey and the animation pipeline to follow.
