A series of 3 paintings that are in sequential order according to this nursery rhyme:
On one lonesome stone,
a butterfly girl is shown.
She trembles not at the land,
but more on that she can't stand.
Wishing to depart, she says in her heart,
"My wings are still mine,
they'll fly in the nick of time."
Upon a floating piece of amber,
winds carry her through the terror
of the hollowness of eyes,
emptily following with their lies.
They said she'll stay by their side,
for they were of formidable size.
Yet they did not realize,
her heart was one that flies.
Perhaps the answer to her fear,
was that she made her own cheer.
Taking up a piece of shard,
she lands a strike and lands it hard,
her power turned stone into gem,
thousands upon thousands of them.
In glorious destruction the crystals flew,
glittering purple in the morning dew.
First thumbnails were made, then I made lineart, chose a color palette for a more cohesive look and rendered the paintings.
