The Moth (Storyboard)

This storyboard teaser was created as the final project for Sequential Design 1 (SD1) and is based on an episode concept inspired by The Moth podcast. The Moth is a live storytelling platform and public radio show that features true, personal stories told without notes by people from diverse backgrounds. The stories are thematically centered on topics such as love, family, and personal transformation.

For this teaser, I focused on the emotional arc of a relationship’s ending and its immediate aftermath. The narrative begins with a visual misdirect: a bird flying through a calm, blue sky. The scene then shifts as the bird enters a violent storm, ultimately shattering into fragments of glass and feathers—serving as a metaphor for emotional collapse and vulnerability.

Learning Outcomes:

This project required the use of strong photographic composition techniques and precise visual editing in Photoshop. I developed technical skills in color correction, lighting adjustment, and visual continuity. Additionally, I strengthened my narrative design and visual storytelling abilities by building a cohesive, emotionally driven concept that effectively communicates the tone and message of the podcast story.
