BFA in Graphic Design — Graphic DesignType 1 Final Project
This project is the final compilation book for Typography 1, featuring selected works created from Week 1 through Week 14. Throughout the course, I explored the foundational principles and tools of typography through a wide range of experimental exercises. The projects included both traditional and expressive typographic studies, from constructing letterforms by hand to developing typographic compositions digitally. I also designed a business card and letterhead system, and created editorial layouts inspired by a Greta Thunberg magazine concept, along with social media mockups.
This course provided a strong foundation in both the history and technical practice of typography. I learned to create letterforms through handwriting studies and to refine typographic compositions using Adobe InDesign. Key skills developed include text alignment, justification, hyphenation, typographic hierarchy, editorial composition, and magazine layout. Through hands-on experimentation, I gained a deeper understanding of spacing, kerning, and leading. Despite the challenges of an online format, the variety of projects allowed me to build both technical confidence and conceptual sensitivity in typography.
