Film Photos

Shot with a Canon AF35MM. Throughout the pandemic, I took up a new hobby of film photography. I have always loved photography but I never really got into film. So I've been loving being able to explore film photography on my own, to document places I've been or memories. However, I also wanted to create a series of film photos. The theme of this series of photos is the beach and how it brings people together and is a source of happiness for so many, especially during the pandemic.
Learning Outcomes:
Throughout the pandemic, I have learned to not put too much pressure on myself when taking photographs. It's important to have fun, explore options or angles you may not normally try. Take pictures that you normally might not take to see how they come out. Film teaches me to not be so nit-picky about everything and it also is one of my favorite ways to capture memories and moments. I feel that with film it feels so much more raw and full of emotion in contrast to using a digital camera.

Throughout this series, I captured various moments shared by strangers. Whether it's a beautiful sunset or a couple on a boat ride, the beach is undeniably a place that brings joy and peacfeulnes. But also holds a lot of memories.

To me, boats really are a display of love for the beach and water. A boat is a vehicle that brings everyone together and takes them to a place where they can make memories and experience the energy of the ocean.

The beach is also a place for pets, children, and adults. I feel this image shows these three coming together. The shoe prints, footprints and paw prints.
