Lost in Translation

This is a movie poster for the re-release of "Lost in Translation", directed by Sofia Coppola. For this, we couldn't utilize any images from the movie and so my concept was to write the word "love" in Japanese and have it breaking apart and glitching. I was inspired by the city lights of Japan, ASCII art, and Japanese gradients
Learning Outcomes:
I learned a lot about communicating my idea in a visually interesting way. I also learned how to integrate my type into my image and not just put it in the corners. I think this really elevated my poster and made it mimic the skyline of the city. I also learned to not be scared to go off the page. By doing so, the dimension of my poster was elevated and felt much more dynamic.
