This 'Small Protest' poster was created during a workshop with Dafi Kühne in which I learned how to do iterative sketching as a tool for generating ideas and exploring different forms of communication. I have always been frustrated by those who leave their blinker on when they aren't switching lanes. I wanted to embody that annoyance of repetition in my printed piece by using color and contrast to my advantage.
Learning Outcomes:
Not only did I learn the process of iterative sketching through this piece, I also learned about the press and printing. I learned how to create a linocut and did it for the first time and realized it's hard for it to be perfect and to embrace the quality of my linocut to enhance my design. I also learned how to create a clear & concise message and to explore many different ways of saying the same thing. Lastly, I learned about working with a group and a talented artist in a close knit setting.
