Patagonia and Volvo Sustainability In Practice

For this project, I was tasked with selecting two companies that genuinely practice sustainability rather than simply greenwashing. I chose Volvo and Patagonia, both recognized for their outstanding sustainability efforts integrated throughout their operations. I evaluated their sustainability practices and, by extension, their branding strategies.
Learning Outcomes:
Many companies adopt sustainability for appearance, without genuinely embodying them in their values. Communicating sustainability can be challenging, as it often carries associations with higher prices and little return on investment. However, when executed effectively, sustainability creates better opportunities for employees and fosters ethical workplaces, potentially leading to lower-priced goods by reducing maintenance costs in self-sufficient facilities.
